Dr. Kraft (Tim) was named Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the UAB School of Optometry in 2019. He is an internationally recognized expert in photoreceptor physiology. Tim’s publications on retinal research have garnered over 2,300 citations worldwide. He is a well-respected mentor of many vision science and neurobiology graduate students, and he has won several awards for teaching excellence. Tim regularly competes in air pistol and free pistol shooting throughout the Southeast and Nationally. He has consulted with the US National pistol coaches. UAB School of Optometry

John Kidd
John Kidd born and raised in West Virginia worked on a farm until college. A graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology with degrees in industrial management and mechanical engineering. John also had an MBA from Bradley University. He worked in the steel and manufacturing business since his college days, amassing 40 years of experience in metal manufacturing and production. He was a true entrepreneur. We are grateful for his inspiration and encouragement; may he rest in peace.
